| Recently, Jules and I encountered for the first time in our lives the death of a loved one. For her it was her grandfather who she was very close to and for me it was the only grandfather I ever knew. My father's father and my mother's mother both died in the Korean War where Japenese troops put them in the front lines to be killed. This grandfather was such a great man. He also was apart of the Korean war, he was a POW and when he was caught by the Russians he escaped by following the North Star( might be a little fictional but who cares!) . He had a total 6 children. He lived a good life up to the age of 85 or 86 and there was such touching stories at his funeral.
So there was one story that got me chocked up and in tears. He had a small wake service the day before his funeral and Julie's uncle Brian who is a chaplain was giving the service. He began to preach and talk about the Lord's way and comfort and he brought up a touching story of how Julie's grandfather even after battling stomach cancer at the age of 50 something would travel 60 miles by bus and train to help his one of his daughters when she was sick and going through a lot of pain. This man was devoted to his family and gave up a lot of his life for his family. Every morning he would go to morning prayer and then clean the church as a act of service to the church without anyone asking him to do so. His spirit was amazing and it really comes through in his children.
I was in tears, not because I knew him so well and felt sad. But I was touched by the how powerful a man's life can be by the Spirit's guidance to serve in all the small things in life. I can only hope my eulogy can be filled with stories of service to the Lord and to my family. Yet, the focus a lot of the time is big church, big numbers, awe-inspiring events that I want to accomplish. It makes me think and it humbles you completely.
Anyways, lots have been going on. Jules and I are excited for this summer and the changes that are going to take place and the new challenges that are going to arise.
This is why I know when Jules and I start trying we are going to have lots of girls.

She melts my heart every time I see her.
OK getting late goodnight. More to come hopefully.

| HELLO THERE EVERYONE. I HAVE GONE AGAINST MY PREVIOUS PRINCIPLES AND HAVE BECOME ADDICTED TO FACEBOOK. BUT DO NOT WORRY I WILL STILL UPDAT E HERE ONCE AND AWHILE.
I AM USING THIS FONT SO ITS EASIER TO READ AND ITS IN WHITE WHICH IS NICE TO SEE.(JUNG!)
LATELY I HAVE BEEN IN FULLERTON CA FOR ORDINATION CLASSES ( JAN 2 TO JAN 12) THE DRIVE FROM MY HOUSE IS 1.5 HOURS IN THE MORNING AND 2 HOURS WHEN I RETURN. IT IS A BRUTAL DRIVE BUT I DO ENJOY DRIVING ALONE AND LISTENING TO THE RADIO.
FROM 8AM TO 10 WE HAVE PRESBYTERY CREED CLASS. THIS CLASS IS BASICALLY A REPEAT OF WHAT I LEARNED IN SEMINARY CONCERING THE APOSTLES CREED. SUCH ISSUES AS THE TRINITY, DIVINITY OF CHRIST, VALIDITY OF NICENE COUNCILL AND SUCH INTERESTING THEOLOGICAL DISCUSSIONS COULD TAKE PLACE BUT.....
IT'S ALL IN KOREAN!!!!!! SO I DON'T UNDERSTAND 90% OF THE WORDS, ACTUALLY PROBABLY MORE LIKE 97% OF THE WORDS. the professor always picks on one student who doesn't speak Korean but its ok since he's playful about it.
I am silent.

| Hello there I am finally attempting to write a Xanga entry because I
believe loyalty to one site( not facebook, or myspace or friendster) is
a virtue. Actually this is the only site where I can write long entries
and post easily. Here it goes.
This
past Wednesday I had to go to Juvenile Hall for one of my students (
actually I only meet him one time). He got a ticket for smoking near
school and he's under age. He got two tickets for the same issue by the
same officer. This story is pretty funny, but a good experience. So his
parents walk into my office on Sunday with our assistant pastor. He
translates for me that they want me to go court with him and his mom
for moral support and also to plead on her son's behalf. In my head I
was thinking, who is your kid???? I agreed because they seemed very
genuine and wanted my help and I am a sucker who cant say no. So I
invite her son over to dinner because I was already having all the
seniors and juniors come over to my house for dinner. He comes with 4
of his friends. What the? Anyways, I meet him and I realize I have
never met her son! He must have come once and never really stayed
around. His parents have been at our church for 3 years and he has not
come since his first visit. But still I sad ok so I was going to go do
it. But I was pretty nervous and not very sure what exactly I was going
to do.

We
end up meeting on Wed at 12 and we head over to the court. I was
thinking it looked something like this but it was a small room with a
judges table and a few chairs, pretty ghetto I have to say. So we wait
in this line for 40 mins with other teens who seem to have done the
same deed. He even recognized one of his school friends.
But
this is where it all changes. All the while thinking I have no idea why
God put me in this situation, I got to talking with his mom. Now
remember my Korean is as bad as George Bush trying to pronounce "
nuclear" on national TV. We sat there for 40 minutes discussing family
relations and how parents these days do not spend time with
their teens and misunderstand their teens words and
body language and how they truly appreciate in their hearts spending time with family even though they say things like I hate our trips or we do such boring things. I
probably said the same word five hundreds times but using it in another
context or different definition. But amazingly she understood my heart and my words. I tell you, that was the most satisfying
conversation I have had with a Korean parent in all of my life. In my
broken Korean she still understood and even gave examples of how she
understood me and it was so nice to be confirmed. It made me realize
that even though we may think our language barrier is unbreakable, if
we just dialogue and talk good can come out of it.
We ended up
staying there for 4 hours because of the judge and the people not being
very organized. Uchin didn't help at all either. hahaha...Uchin what do
you do all day? haha., just kidding. The fine turned out to be 400
dollars but he was able to take a class and cut it in half. The thing
is there were at least 50 teens there for violations ranging from 400
to 1000( this innocent looking Korean girl got a fine for 1000 dollars,
what the heck did she do?!)
OK I saw this guy there that
looked like a TV talk show host that interviewed stars and I looked it
up online and it looked exactly like this guy James Lipton from Inside
the Actors Studio on Bravo..I swear it was his twin!

Anyways
freak I take back the thing about xanga being easy!!! why cant I paste pictures onto my post!!! dang it!!!\
Here are some other events that happened since I take pictures and post them four months later.
 Jules
and I celebrating our one year anniversary with our cake( no we did not
eat it!!). Dave Matthews this year was a lot better than last years
show but hes getting weird. His latest song which I have forgotten the
name to is weird and the music video is creepy and he blasts Christians
I think! Man! No more Dave? Too much Marijuana at his concerts, Jules
was getting sick of all the smoke around us. Old people doing drugs is
sad. Actually young and old is just sad.
Here are some more photos from Philippines

p.s. If I have not seen or talked to you in 3-5 years. Please email me or call me so we can hang out. thank you
